A photo for evidence that Pat & Ann Knowles and Jean & I got together recently while Tom Vitullo was in New London for PCO school. He's enroute command in Boston and will be living in New Hampshire with his family, when he's not underway! It's been a busy Spring and we don't see friends as often as we'd like to. So this was a good excuse to get together!

Jack & Laura Jennings and their family will be moving from Ivoryton, CT, to Cape Cod this summer; Jack has a new position working with Bob Fogel at Harvard. On a sad note, Laura's mother died after a lengthy illness this spring. Our sympathy to the whole family.
Jim Sweet sent the following message about our Class Fund out to the class in May and is hoping to have everyone's input in the next couple of weeks.
Jim is currently working for CAPT Phil Volk (Ret), '71, on a number of personnel related projects for the Coast Guard; so is Kyle Moore.
Classmates,
The Alumni Association has made a request that the the Class of '83 consider give a gift of $25,000 to the Alumni Center from our Class Gift Fund. Our Class Gift Fund balance as of last fall was $26,000 and change, which means it's probably about $27,000 now, and is growing by approximately $200 a month from gift allotments.
To date more than 30 classes have made class commitments ranging from $5,000 to $250,000 and totaling more than $1.5 million. That group includes every class from 1966 to 1996 except 1971, 1973, 1980, 1983, 1984 and 1986. The other three classes in the '80s have all made unofficial pledges, two of $25,000 each and one of $10,000, and Jim Sylvester, the new Association president, has his class of 1971 on the verge of pledging $50,000. I recommend we make the gift of $25,000.
In an effort to get a class consensus, I request you send me an e-mail 'yeh' or 'neh' by June 25. I will take the consensus, discuss the results with the class officers and forward the decision to the Association and back to you.
I hope you and yours are all in good health and enjoying the bliss of civilian life or excitement of military life.
Take care and look forward to hearing from you. - Jim
