Time to make your reservations for the 20th Reunion on October 3-5, 2003. The local crowd here in New London is making plans for a fun weekend including a welcome reception Friday night, the tailgate party and a dinner Saturday evening at the Officer's Club. Twenty years goes by fast.
Charlie Jager has again linked us up with a discussion forum for the reunion, as well as other 83-news items. To get the latest word on details and to offer your comments and suggestions, log into http://www15.brinkster.com/cga83/forum/. If you have not used web-based discussion forums before, they are a great tool for trading thoughts and commentary. Think of the forum as an electronic water cooler where classmates can pause for a bit and catch up on details.
If each of you could zap me an email, we will be able to assemble a master list to send information out to for the reunion. In addition to the web discussion forum, you can send along any comments on the reunion to me and I'll pass them along the group. We're looking forward to seeing as many of you at the festivities.
Congratulations to Greg and Jean Bartolett on the birth of their first child last June, Felix Sebastian. The enclosed photo was sent to Charlie via Jim Ferguson. Looks like the little guy will be a great addition to the CGA class of 2024!

Barney Moreland sent along an update, "I plan on attending the reunion, provided I am able to. I am a reservist, currently mobilized in the mid-east, living in a tent and all that. We don't know when this will end; our mobilization orders are open-ended. So we'll see." Thanks Barney and God Bless you and your team. We look forward to seeing you in a few months.
Congratulations to Molly Riordon for her recent national television debut. Molly and her children Jack and Casey were invited to ride on the "Smart and Final" float during the Rose Bowl parade on New Years Day. Molly'sJoe got a great view of the parade as well from the grandstands. While Molly rode on the bow in her flight jacket Jack and Casey were two of the four children on the stern of the float. The float was made of candy, so everyone was well fed throughout the parade. Nice way to start the year with a classmate representing the Coast Guard on national television. Well done to the Riordan family.
Please feel free to send me notes about classmates or yourself. It is always great to get the Bulletin and turn to the class notes to read about people. Send those stories or photos in.
With this May marking our twentieth year since shaking hands with the Superintendent and Vice President and walking into the "future" we are indeed at a significant milestone. Each of us has walked a different path, done different things, and shared our own successes and difficulties. At this point, a number of us are facing changes. Though jobs and titles may change there is one constant that brings strength: we are members of the Coast Guard Academy Class of 1983. We remain Leaders for Change. husband
